You might be me if…

… you think that the sandwich you just made is so good it should be illegal. I bought Kraft sliced co-jack cheese and Oscar Meyar summer sausage. Both are perfectly sized for bread making each bite of my sandwich consistently as delicious as the previous. *chomp*

Hump day already!

It seems like I just got home from Cinci and here the week is half over. This upcoming weekend is not a Kris weekend ::cries:: but it is a fencing weekend. She’s going into her finals so it’s probably best that I’m not there to distract her though I will miss her. The tournament is in Fort Wayne, IN. I’ll be reffing (otherwise I’d be going to a tourney in Indy which is about 2 hours closer) and there’s fencer going from all of my clubs, RCF, Jefferson High, and UC Clermont! It’s like a big me fencing party.

This morning and the first half of the afternoon I spent doing yard work. And I’m not talking about mowing the lawn, I’m talking about preparing to mow the lawn. There were some trees growing in my bushes that I cut down. I also trimmed a lot of the pine tree branches so I don’t get whacked in the face when I mow under them. I managed to pull a fair number of weeds along the way, but that project has not truly begun. There’s also a chunk of yard behind my garage that is a good setting for a wasteland so it will need attention at some point too. All I know is that my new gloves rock and the mini tree saw I bought 0wnz all the plant life in my yard!

Let’s not forget that there’s grass growing out of the gutters… good times ahead!

April is almost over

So that of course means March is almost here! Wait, no… May. Stupid “M” months *grumble*. Anyway I wanted to say that everything looks like it will be ok. The numbers at RCF mean that I’ll be able to pay rent and eat. It’ll be tight of course, no trips to the gentleman’s club or anything like that.

The upgrades to the facility are just about completed (as far as my budget will allow) and so it’s easier to repair weapons and equipment is better organized. We’re anticipating some new customers thanks to the health fair too. In addition, I’ll have a new roomie to help split the bills with.

So basically I’m successful. I don’t have to admit defeat yet and get another job. Though I’ve got a couple of endeavors over the summer and some of the fencers will disappear for family vacations and alternative sports so I’ll be looking to ref as much as possible and supplement the RCF income. Thanks to everyone and all your support so far!

Another picture from the trip

Kris at Newport (as the picture clearly shows ^_^)One more picture. This one is Kris at Newport (though I’m sure you could figure that out for yourself since the picture rocks). I should take more photos on a camera that Kris can’t delete the pictures from…

When your mom tells you not to put orange seeds in your ear…

When your mom tells you not to put orange seeds in your ear...This weekend I went to Cincinnati to visit Kris. I got in Friday night and she showed me the oranges that her mother gave us for easter. Somewhere in there she put one on my ear and took a picture. I made the face you see… and I guess that’s the end of the story.

Beauty and ConcreteWe went to Sawyer Point because it was a beautiful day. We also got up too late to go to the Newport Aquarium as we had initially planned, but this worked out and we got to do a lot of things Kris hadn’t done yet. She really enjoys the cherry blossom trees. She does not enjoy the way I take pictures. I had a lot of fun at the park showing her my favorite places to sit and think about the people passing by. There was also a company that would rent bikes to you by the hour and they had a tandem bike! For the longest time I’ve always wanted a girlfriend and a tandem bike so next time we go back and she’s got pants on we’re so riding tandem!

Will at Sawyer PointSome other highlights included going to her parent’s place for a “BBQ”, which was actually a small feast consisting of delicious steak, salmon, vegetables, bread, and other fine things. OMG it’s nice to date a woman in a family that can cook well! We also dined at Brio in Newport. I had some really great pasta with chicken and bacon. Bacon just makes everything better. Got a headache? Bacon! Global warming? Bacon! End of days? Well… at least you’ll die on a full stomach with bacon. Did I mention I love bacon in my food?

For the first time

I miss Kris so much that it hurts for the first time that I can recall. Maybe it’s just that things here in Lafayette are starting to settle down enough that I have time to miss her whole heartedly. Maybe it’s just that I’ve only seen her for a handful of days over the last three weeks. I like to think that it’s really that my love continues to grow for her and so it makes it that much harder to say good bye.

This weekend we stayed busy with PFC alumni activities and my parents’ easter plans. I enjoyed it all but I really felt like I only had one afternoon to spend with Kris. The good part is that she continues to approve of my friends and enjoys my family’s company. I asked Kris if there’ll be a chance to meet her sister any time soon ((she lives in Texas)) and it seems that the answer is no unless I’m making a trip down to Texas any time soon.

All-in-all a good weekend. I wish the PFC still held their picnic since the weather was wonderful, but this way it left Kris and I with a little more time to ourselves.

Picture at last!

Kris & Will @ Krohn ConservatorySo here’s the picture you’ve all been waiting for! Kris claims she has a weird smile, so if you think she has a weird smile in this picture do not hold it against her. I think she looks great regardless. We do not know the dumb people in the background. Enjoy!
